Felting Fun Across Kyrgyzstan Part 3: Felting Silk with Seven Sisters

Hello from Seattle! I’m here for the annual meeting of the American Anthropological Association. This is our fourth appearance at the AAA meeting as an exhibitor.  All I we can say is “We love anthropologists, and they love HoonArts!” One of my favorite things about anthropologists–they already know where the ‘Stans are!

But I didn’t forget about you! I made you a promise last week and I always try to keep my promises.

Here’s our final installment of our video series, “Felting Fun Across Kyrgyzstan”. In Part 3, you’ll see highlights from our last morning on the 3 Stans Tour, when we visited the workshop of the famed Seven Sisters family artisan group in Bishkek. And for 7 of us, it was the chance of a lifetime to get our hands wet in a master class on felting silk, using the techniques that have made Seven Sisters famous.

Enjoy!

If you would like to try your hand at felting silk yourself, check out our online master class, Felting Silk with Zhanyl Sharshembieva, available for just $47.00.
