Are you looking for something new and unique to wear as you emerge from the pandemic? Are you tired of the same old "off the shelf" jewelry?

Then this video of our HoonArts Live held on June 11, 2021 is perfect for you. The HoonArts team showcased the unique and often one-of-a-kind jewelry handcrafted by our fair trade artisan partners in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. You'll also learn something about the people and stories behind these fabulous gems.

From Kyrgyzstan, you'll see up close and personal the amazing sterling silver jewelry from Zhanyl Sharshembieva of the famed Seven Sisters, frequent exhibitors at the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market.

We also featured the exclusive hand-carved earrings and pendants created just for HoonArts by famed Central Asian woodcarver Master Sodiq Zaripov of Tajikistan. Master Sodiq is a fifth-generation master carver, whose original specialty of hand-carved combs are famous throughout Central Asia.

And finally, learn about how Armughon Handicrafts of Tajikistan turned the traditional beaded tassels known as "pupaks" (used for hundreds of years in traditional clothing) into jewelry.

One memory of Tajikistan that always stays with me is the delicious fruits and nuts, fresh from the orchards that are found in every valley in the country. My own photos can’t do justice to these fruits and nuts, so I thought I would . . .
