The Farsi word “kundal” translates as “flower paradise.” This decorative painting technique was developed in the late 14th – early 15th century. At that time people decorated their homes and dishes in this style. The kundal technique of painting is widely used by contemporary artists in Tajikistan, and we have several kundal masters represented in the HoonArts catalogue.
