“OSIMI,” which has already garnered numerous international film awards, chronicles the life of a man called the “Nelson Mandela” of Central Asia. With our world in turmoil through ethnic, religious, cultural and philosophical differences, the story of one man-in a country most could not locate on a map-changes the paradigm of how to create peace. Filmed in Tajikistan and around the world, through Muhammed Osimi we witness the power of art, education and science to help heal his country even during a bloody civil war. The concepts that he lived for, fought for and ultimately for which he died, can serve us all and continue to grow through his family, friends and students.

HoonArts will be there with an exhibition (no sales) of artisan-crafted fashion, gifts and accessories from Tajikistan, illustrating the transformational power of the language of art. HoonArts continues to be the only US company working to build—hand-in-hand with our artisan partners—a sustainable market in North America for the stunnning work of the artisans of Tajikistan. We are truly making the impossible possible— one bag, one comb, one kimono at a time.

Join us for an extraordinary evening that will be life changing, and life affirming.
